Research Grant Letter Of Intent Instructions and Application

The Kansas City Foundation for Pulmonary Fibrosis is proud to be able to offer a $30,000
research grant for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. We are currently accepting letters of intent to apply for grant funding. Please email a Letter of Intent to sjune@kcpulmonaryfibrosis.org by June 1st, 2024. Letters will be reviewed for scientific merit and feasibility. A handful of projects will ultimately be selected for a formal grant application with more detail on the project to determine the final grant award. Please include:

1. Opening summary statement:
ï‚·
          - It should be able to stand alone.
ï‚·          - Make it clear what you want to accomplish with the funds.
ï‚·          - Keep this paragraph brief. If selected a more formal grant application will follow                to explain the project in greater depth.

2. Project Activity:

ï‚·          - Give an overview of the activities involved.
ï‚·          - Highlight why your proposal is novel and deserving of funding.
ï‚·          - Indicate if there will be collaboration with other organizations and what their                      roles will be. Be specific about who does what.

3. Outcomes:

ï‚·          - State the specific outcomes you hope to achieve.

4. Credentials:

ï‚·          - Demonstrate why your institution or your staff is best equipped to carry out this                activity.
ï‚·          - Put any historic background about the institution here.
ï‚·          - Indicate awards, rankings, and tangible measures that set you apart from your                    peers.

6. Budget:

ï‚·           - General description of the projects funding needs. In depth details are not                           needed at this stage.

7. Closing:

ï‚·           - Offer to give any additional information the foundation might need. Include a                       contact name and contact information.
