2021 September PF Awareness Month
Patient Education Symposium

The KC Foundation for PF,  Dr. Mark Hamblin, and his staff are hosting  a virtual Patient Education Symposium.

The symposium will be held over three Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm. Each day will have two or three  presentations . 

  • September 11th

  1.      IPF vs. PF – discussion of different types of pulmonary fibrosis; how imaging and diagnosis may influence management with  genetic tie in.  11 am to 12 pm

  2. Anti-fibrotic therapy and clinical trials.  12 to 1 pm


  • September 25th 

  1. IPF Co-morbidities (Cough, GERD, CAD, OSA).  11 am to 12 pm

  2. Non-pharmacologic Therapy (without medications)  (Oxygen, pulmonary rehabilitation, and other treatments).  12 to 1 pm

  3. Lung Transplant.  1 to 2 pm

  • October 2nd

  1. PH-ILD – Pulmonary hypertension associated with Interstitial Lung Disease.  11 am to 12 pm

  2. End of Life Care (Symptom management, palliative care, hospice) . 1 2 to 1 pm



This symposium is for individuals with Pulmonary Fibrosis, their care partners, and family members. 

Each presentation will be virtually using Zoom.  Also, each presentation will have a separate Zoom invite (i.e. you will receive two invites for each day).
